The Atlanta Jamaat app and website (atlantajamaat.org/member) are run by Atlanta Jamaat, the Dawoodi Bohra community of Atlanta, Georgia, for its members. This page says what information the app uses, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. We do not sell information about you and the app shows no advertising.
Who the app is for
The app is for members of the jamaat. You sign in with your ITS number, the identifier every member already holds, and the app then shows the jamaat's schedules and services for you and your household.
Information we use
- Sign-in. Your ITS number and the password you set for the jamaat, checked by the jamaat's own sign-in service or by ITS52 when you choose that. If you set up Face ID or Touch ID sign-in, the app stores a passkey public key for your device; your fingerprint or face never leaves your device. If you tick Remember me, a token keeps this device signed in for up to 30 days.
- Your member record. Your name, household, contact details and Thaali zone come from the jamaat's member system. The app shows them to you and, where the jamaat's work needs it, to the volunteers who run that work: zone heads and drivers see the households on their route, and Thaali and Miqaat administrators see signups and reports.
- What you do in the app. Thaali and Miqaat signups, clearance and Qardan Hasana requests, and the ratings and comments you give on Thaali dishes. Ratings and comments are shown with your name to the Thaali administrators so the kitchen can improve.
- Location. Only when you ask for namaaz times for where you are. Your coordinates are sent to our server to calculate the times and are kept in a cookie on your device for 30 days so the next visit starts on the right times. We do not keep a record of where you have been. You can decline the location request; the app then shows the masjid's times.
- Technical records. Like every website, our server keeps standard logs, the address a request came from, the page asked for and the browser used, for security and to fix problems. The app carries no analytics or advertising trackers.
Cookies and storage on your device
The app uses a session cookie to keep you signed in as you move between pages, the Remember me token described above, the location cookie, and the browser's own storage for your preferences and for pages saved for offline reading. None of these are used to track you across other sites.
Services the app connects to
- The jamaat's member and Thaali systems, which hold the member records, schedules and signups the app shows.
- ITS52, when you sign in with it; ITS52's own privacy terms apply to that sign-in.
- PayPal, for Jamaat dues. Payment happens on PayPal's site under PayPal's terms; the app never sees your card or bank details.
- Vimeo, which carries the Relay livestream, and Instagram, whose public posts appear on the Overview. Loading those players and images sends the usual web requests to those companies.
- Apple and Google, which distribute the app through their stores and handle app updates.
Who can see your information
Only people within the jamaat whose role needs it, as described above, and the service providers that host and run the app on our behalf. We do not share member information with anyone outside the jamaat except when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Signups, requests and feedback are kept as the jamaat's records of its work. Sign-in sessions end when you sign out or when they expire, and a remembered device is forgotten after 30 days or as soon as you revoke it. You can ask us to correct or delete information about you at the address below.
Children
Members sign in with their own ITS number. Children appear in the app only as part of their parents' household records, which their parents see; the app does not take sign-ups or information from children directly.
Keeping it safe
Every connection is encrypted, sign-in is protected by passkeys where you choose them, and you can see and revoke every signed-in device from the Security page in the app.
Your choices
- Sign out, or revoke any device, from the Security page.
- Remove a passkey from the Security page, and turn location access off for the app in your phone's Settings.
- Ask to see, correct or delete your information by writing to mit@atlantajamaat.org.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date at the top, and the app tells you about any change that matters.
